The Piece

Honey-coloured citrine beads with small gold saucers between them. Citrine is the old merchant’s stone — shopkeepers kept it by the till — and it remains the piece our self-employed customers buy for themselves.

Craft

Natural, heat-untreated citrine, which is scarcer than the treated kind and holds a softer colour. Graded for even tone, hand-strung, double-knotted.

Placement

Worn on the right wrist by tradition, or kept near the desk. Fits 15–19 cm wrists.
