Here is the whole process. It is not mystical, but it is thorough.
Day one
Your piece comes off the shelf and gets checked against its material card — stone, metal, weight, finish. About one piece in forty fails this check for something small: a loose knot, a scratch we missed on intake. Those go back to the bench.
Then it gets cleaned. Jade and crystal are rinsed in lukewarm water and dried with linen. Bronze gets a dry cloth and, if it needs it, a drop of oil.
Overnight
The piece rests overnight on a shelf away from the rest of the stock, by an east-facing window. This is the “attunement” — a habit we inherited from the workshops we buy from, and one we have kept because it forces a second inspection with fresh eyes in the morning.
Day two
Morning check, then packing: star-chart tissue, the placement card for that specific piece, the material card, and the box. If you ordered before noon, it usually goes out the same day.
That is the whole ritual. No incantations — just two inspections, a wash, and a night by the window.
